Frutti Di Mare Corner of 4th Street and 2nd Avenue – 212-979-2034
At Frutti Di Mare, a classic Italian restaurant on 4th Street and 2nd Avenue, we’ve found a delicious early bird special from 12pm – 6:30pm. For just $10.95 per person enjoy a soup and salad of the day. I chose the cream of carrot soup and a garden salad. Then choose from 3 categories of entrees including 5 types of pasta, 4 types of chicken and the fish of the day. I choose the chicken parmigiana served with linguine on the side – I loved the fresh marinara sauce. They also have this delicious fettuccine primavera with broccoli, zucchini and carrots in a creamy alfredo sauce. Enjoy your choice of wine, soda or tea along with the incredibly filling meal.

Chic, trendy and upscale, it’s a wonder why this restaurant ever closes! Monday-Friday night, from 6-11pm, this French American Bistro, is offering a $25 three-course prefix menu. Enjoy a super salad for the appetizer. Choose from 3 main courses. I chose the juicy organic ½ chicken with roasted potatoes and spinach. Choose from 2 desserts including this indulgent crème Brule. Also enjoy a glass of wine.

Churrascaria Plataforma Tribeca
221 West Broadway at White Street in Tribeca– 212-925-6969
At Churrascaria Plataforma, with one location in Tribeca and on 49th St, you don't need to travel to Brazil to experience the flavors of the succulent meat and the warm hospitality. There’s no menu, but during their lunch special which runs Friday- Sunday, noon to 4pm, for $30.95 per person, your table is filled with starter goodies including a basket of warm cheese bread, crispy shrimps and meat croquettes and pastels (light dumplings) with sauce. On your table are these little cards with green and red sides. Green means go and red mean stop serving me! Next be sure to visit the extravagant salad bar & choose from 15-20 different salads - I chose the Caesar salad, & grilled vegetables. Then waiters begin to serve to you a selection (15-20 slices) of succulent juicy meats prepared fresh on skewers. I chose the Picanha - a top sirloin steak (their specialty) served with a Brazilian sauce, as well as the rib eye steak covered with garlic sauce. If that is not enough, they'll also serve you 8 side dishes from rice, fried plantains, fried bananas, vinagrette sauce with yukka flour.
